The leadership and key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia State, have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu.
This endorsement came at a strategic meeting convened on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Ikenga Plaza Hotel, Ebem Ohafia, where members assessed the political atmosphere and reviewed the performance of their party’s elected leaders.
In a communiqué released at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders pledged their unflinching loyalty to President Tinubu, applauding his “courageous, reform-driven, and people-focused policies” designed to reposition Nigeria on the path of economic recovery and long-term prosperity.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who represents Abia North Senatorial District, and Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu were equally commended for their sterling representation. The duo were described as leaders whose vision and impactful contributions have continued to uplift the zone and the nation at large.
Part of the communiqué stated:
“We unanimously pass a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, and Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, in recognition of their selfless service, steadfastness, and commitment to the progressive agenda of our great party, the APC.”
The meeting particularly acknowledged Senator Kalu’s numerous interventions in Ohafia, highlighting landmark projects such as road construction and rehabilitation, school building and renovations, installation of solar-powered streetlights across Abiriba, Nkporo, and Ohafia, as well as youth empowerment and women/farmers’ support programs.
“These projects have brought tangible and lasting benefits to our people,” the statement read, urging the former governor to continue on the path of development.
Push for Federal Inclusion
The gathering also emphasized the need for increased federal appointments for indigenes of Ohafia, noting that the area has remained a stronghold of the APC and deserved a greater role in the governance structure of the country.
Looking towards 2027, the stakeholders resolved to intensify grassroots mobilization in support of the APC, assuring of “overwhelming votes” for both President Tinubu and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in appreciation of their leadership and vision.
The communiqué further called on APC members across Ohafia and beyond to close ranks, remain steadfast, and work together towards consolidating the party’s influence in Abia State.
The meeting concluded with appreciation to participants for their active involvement and a renewed commitment to the APC’s mission of delivering progress and prosperity for Nigeria.
