Osun Govs Wife Urges Women To Fight Violence Against Women

Women in the State of Osun have been urged to give undiluted support to the present administration in the fight against all forms of violence against women in the state.

Wife of the Governor of the Sate of Osun Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola stated this today at the grand finale of year 2013 of international women’s day held at  local government service commission multi purpose hall State secretariat Abere. Mrs Aregbesola who spoke through wife of the Chief of staff Mrs Kafayat Oyetola said,the 2013 international women’s day in the state of osun calls for celebration due to how the present administration led by ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola have identified women as backbone for rural economy going by the multiplicity of roles played by them in the society which includes domestics chores and caring for family member.  Mrs Aregbesola stressed that,equality,peace and development is about
institutionalising legal and justiciable system that protect and promote women as key stakeholders in the development of the society.

Earlier in her welcome address,honourable commissioner for Women and Children affairs Mrs Mofolake Adegboyega said,the laudable  effort of the present administratuon in the state for women will go a long way in reducing hunger,poverty and unemployment in the state. Highlight of the events  includes presentation of cultural dance,drama and gifts items to indigent women in the state. Dignitaries who graced the occassion includes wife of the speaker  Alhaja Adebimpe Najeem,deputy speaker’s wife Alhaja Adegboye,Commissioner for health Dr Temitope Ilori ,wife of the deputy chief of staff  Mrs Busola Adebusuyi ,olori Ataoja of Osogbo land,Iyalode of Osogbo Chief Alake Kolade among others.
