The Kaduna State Police Command has invited former Governor of the state, Nasir El-Rufai, and six other members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for questioning in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy and incitement of public disturbance.
The invitation was extended in a letter from the Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), addressed to the ADC Party Chairman of the Kaduna Chapter.
The document, dated 4th September, 2025, and titled “RE: CASE OF CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, INCITING DISTURBANCE OF PUBLIC PEACE, MISCHIEF AND CAUSING GRIEVOUS HURT,” requested the chairman to present the listed individuals to the State CID for clarification.
Those listed alongside the former governor are Mal. Bashir Sa’idu, Jafaru Sanusi, Ustaztullah Mohammed, Nasiru Maikana, Ammu Abita, and Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini. The police letter states that the individuals are to appear on 8th September, 2025, to clarify allegations brought against them by complainants.
A source familiar with the matter, who requested anonymity, said the complaints are linked to recent political activities and public gatherings that reportedly led to a breach of peace in certain parts of the state. However, the police have not disclosed the identities of the complainants or the specifics of the alleged incidents.
The invitation, which comes just days after the complaints were filed, signals the police’s intent to thoroughly investigate the matter.
The letter ends with a formal note from the Commissioner, indicating the police authority’s commitment to upholding the law.
As of press time, efforts to reach the ADC Party Chairman or any of the invited individuals for comment were unsuccessful. The public awaits the outcome of the police investigation, which could have significant political implications in the state.
