Police seal off PDP secretariats in Abuja, Ondo, Kebbi

by Our Reporter
The crisis rocking  the Peoples’ Democratic Party, took a dramatic twist few hours ago,   with the sealing of its national headquarters in Abuja, and  the party  secretariats in Ondo and Kebbi states.

The secretariats were sealed off by men and officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

Confirming the development in Kebbi,   the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Nafiu Abubakar  said that the closure of the party office became necessary due to the friction in the party.
He said that the crisis started when the two sides were claiming chairmanship of the party and they were asked to resolve the matter within themselves but could not.
The PPRO explained further that Alhaji Musa Danillea and Alhaji Aliyu Bagudu were claiming to be the state party chairmen while the two of them were sending an invitation planning to hold a meeting at the party office.

The Police  authorities in Ondo State also  sealed off the state secretariat of the PDP, following the dissolution of the state working committee and their rejection of the national body’s decision.
At least 12 policemen were deployed to the party secretariat located at No 68 Oyemekun Road, Akure to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

Pointblanknews.com gathered that the  policemen arrived the Wadata Plaza in Wuse zone 5, earlier today  apparently to prevent any of the members of the National Working Committee from gaining entrance to the building.

As at saturday, two men laid claim to the leadership of the party. They are the sacked chairman, Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff and  Senator Ahmed Markafi,  the chairman of the caretaker committee set up by another faction of the party.
No fewer  than 28 policemen were seen around the building, turning back people from entering the premises.
