Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) weekend called off its 10-month old strike.
The announcement came after a meeting of ASUP National Executive Council and the new minister of education, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau.
The polytechnics are to resume next week, the meeting agreed.
Shekarau, the immediate past governor of Kano State, was sworn in on Wednesday.
