As the battle for the control of politics of Imo state rage between the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Jerry Alagbaso says he has withdrawn his support for the state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, over alleged non adherence to the tenets of  rule of law.
Speaking to journalists in Orlu, the lawmaker who represents Orlu/ Orsu/ Oru federal constituency said; “When Okorocha is doing well, everybody supported him but now that everybody thinks he is not doing well. It is now to your tents oh Israel. That is why we came back to ensure that PDP won the State Assembly election in Oguta LGA.”
Alagbaso maintained that he is still a member of the PDP and denied reports making the rounds that he was set to dump the party for APGA.
Recall that the lawmaker who has been a close ally of Okorocha, had during a reception organized by the people of Ideato federal constituency in honour of the governor, last May, said; “Going by the governor’s wonderful performance in the stateâ€, he (Alagbaso),had no option but to pitch his tent with Okorocha’s party, APGA.
Are you asking me not to follow Owelle, will you do what he is doing for me? Owelle is the man I know, I will continuously cleave to him,†he boasted.
