The Government of Rivers State has resolved to investigate the financial
activities and employment racket in the Rivers State Local Government
Service Commission.
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and
Publicity, Sir Opunabo Inko-Tariah, the government is to also investigate
the employment racketeering in the Civil Service Commission under Sir Ngo
Martins Yellow.
Also to be investigated are the financial activities and employment
racketeering in the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC)
under Professor Augustine Ahiazu.
The Statement further read, that members of the Dissolved commissions must
explain how the sum of two billion Naira paid to them by Rotimi Amaechi’s
government was spent. This excludes the other payments made to Rivers
State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) that must be accounted for.
