A suspected coronavirus patient, identified as Vincent Prosper, has been
declared wanted by the Abia State government.
Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi, who disclosed this in a
statement, said the suspected patient sneaked into Abia from a
neighbouring state.
He said, “Abia State Ministry of Health in partnership with the State
Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19 has declared one Vincent
Prosper, who sneaked into Abia State from a neighboring state, wanted.”
The Commissioner said Prosper was last seen around 153, Azikiwe Road,
Aba and urged anyone with useful information on his whereabouts not to
hesitate to contact the State Commissioner for Health or call 0700 2242
362.
He also urged those who may have had contact with the suspected patient
to call 0700 2242 362, without delay.
Residents of the state have continued to lament over the porosity of
most of Abia’s borders with her neigbours as policemen allegedly collect
various sums of money to allow movement of people.
Sources hint policemen and soldiers between N1,000 and N2,000, to allow
people access the border areas.
The influx of people especially from the Abia border with Akwa Ibom
state have continued despite Governor Okezie Ikpeazu warning to security
agencies to guard the boundary areas.
