The Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency (NASEMA) has confirmed that two persons have been struck dead by thunderstorm.
While one died instantly, the other died on the way to the hospital.  A total of 4 persons were affected by the thunder strike in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Tuesday.
The Director-General of NASEMA, Benjamin Akwash stated this on Wednesday during a condolence visit to the families of the deceased and the injured.
The NASEMA boss urged the bereaved families to accept what has happened as the will of God and prayed God to repose the souls of the deceased and give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
“The governor asked us to visit and condole you over what happened and to also visit those receiving treatments.
“We are also to take inventory of destruction of property, if any, to assist in cushioning the effect of the disaster,” he added.
The DG gave the families of the deceased an undisclosed amount of money to support them and promised to take care of the hospital bills of those receiving treatments.
