LENTEN MEDITATION.
A JOURNEY THROUGH THE EPISTLE OF JAMES

DAY 2 THURSDAY 19TH FEBRUARY 2026

Text: James 1:2–3

Meditation
James calls believers to rejoice in trials, not because pain is pleasant, but because God uses trials to refine faith. Lent teaches us that suffering is not wasted in God’s hands. Trials expose our spiritual depth and strengthen endurance. Joy in trials is not denial of pain but confidence in God’s purpose. When faith is tested, it grows stronger, purer, and more resilient.

Reflective Questions
1. What trials am I facing presently?
2. How has God used trials to strengthen me before?
3. Do I trust God’s purpose in difficulty?
4. How can I respond to trials with faith rather than fear?

Prayer
Gracious Lord, grant me the grace to trust You in trials and to rejoice in Your refining work in my life, through Jesus Christ our LORD. Amen.

Memory Verse
The testing of your faith produces endurance. (James 1:3)

Further Study
1 Peter 4:12-13
Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
