Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, is leading the country’s delegation to the 3rd African Union-European Union (AU-EU) Ministerial Meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Mr. Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, emphasized the long-standing AU-EU partnership, which began with the first summit in Cairo in 2000 and has since been shaped by five subsequent summits.
The Brussels meeting is expected to have in attendance the African Group of Ambassadors, followed by a session of Senior Officials. The high-level Ministerial Meeting is scheduled for May 21, 2025. Ambassador Tuggar is expected to deliver a significant address on Peace, Security, and Governance during the plenary session.
The Ministry reiterated Nigeria’s dedication to strengthening its diplomatic relationships and advancing mutual interests through multilateral engagement within the AU-EU framework.
