Habib Bama, the man declared wanted by Nigerian security for being a key master mind of the Madalla chrismas day church bombing, United Nations Building bombing has been arrested in Damaturu.
He was arrested after serious exchange of gun fire with security forces while he was trying to sneak out of Damaturu town earlier today.
Security sources said he was badly hit by bullets and doubt if he would survive the wounds.
The Commander of Joint Task Force(JTF) in Damaturu, Col. Dahiru Abdullsalam, confirmed the arrest today on phone from Damaturu, but could not give specifics as to how Bama, a dismissed soldier in the Nigerian army, was arrested.
Top security sources, who prefered not to be named because he was not authorized to speak on the issue however revealed that Bama was among those who lead the attack in Damaturu on Monday.
“Habib Bama would have escaped from Damaturu on Tuesday, but the 24 hours curfew that was imposed in the city prevented his escape until when he attempted sneaking out of the city today and our men who got the wind of his move, quickly closed in and pinned him down”, said the top military personnel.
