Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, has shared a heartfelt yet striking advice with his daughter, Temi, and her husband, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, during their wedding reception.
Temi and Mr Eazi tied the knot in a private ceremony in Iceland in August 2025, following two earlier celebrations , a civil wedding in Monaco on May 9, which coincided with Mr Eazi’s late mother’s birthday, and a Yoruba traditional wedding held at the Otedola family residence in Dubai in July.
In a now-viral video from the Iceland reception, Otedola praised the couple’s bond, describing their marriage as “made in Heaven.”
He highlighted their shared entrepreneurial spirit while urging Temi to embrace her new role as a wife.
“You found a great guy, very great guy, blessed guy. He’s come from a very decent family. One thing I’ll advise you… you have to succumb to the whims and caprices of your husband. Okay? He’s your husband, he’s your boss. There’s no more dad, don’t call me up,” Otedola said.
The billionaire businessman further encouraged the couple to handle challenges privately.
“When you have issues, problems, just keep it within yourself. Never call any friend that you have this problem. Just keep it within your walls. And God will bless you and bless your marriage.”
He also showered praises on their drive and resilience, comparing their entrepreneurial flair to the hustling spirit of his own generation. Otedola capped his speech by presenting a special wedding gift, telling the newlyweds: “You go out to the world. You’re both entrepreneurs. Out-think, out-manoeuvre, and out-spend. You’ll be great people. This is my gift for you.”
Following the wedding, Temi officially adopted her husband’s surname, updating her social media profile to read “Mrs Ajibade.” Her decision has since reignited debate in feminist circles over whether women should take their husband’s surname or retain their maiden names after marriage.
