.The Nigeria National Summit Group (NNSG) joins all patriotic Nigerians in welcoming the end of the first phase of the revealing National Conference.
Whilst congratulating President Jonathan’s courage and initiative in convening this very critical process, the NNSG looks forward to the National Assembly expeditiously amending the 1999 Constitution to allow for urgent ratification of the Conference’s Resolutions via a Referendum of the Nigerian Peoples.
The NNSG notes with distaste the attempts by certain Nigerian Elders to scuttle the Conference’s gains and prospective value by playing cheap feudal politics with this nation; and, the NNSG reiterates its commitment to a united peaceful and secure Nigeria premised on justice, equity and fairplay.
The NNSG seizes this opportunity to salute Nigeria’s gallant fighting/security forces on their efforts to curb terrorism, create a necessary peaceful environment during elections, and maintain general peace and security nationwide.
