Progress Made In Power Sector Irreversible

by Our Reporter

Nigerians are hereby re assured that the resignation of the former Minister of Power, Dr. Barth Nnaji, will not in any way affect, derail or negate the progress made so far in the power sector as the transformation agenda in the power sector are irreversible.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is determined to protect investors’ confidence and credibility in the power sector.

This is predicated essentially on the fact that the structures on ground, and the institutions driving them have been properly and firmly established and designed to make the promised deliverables in the power sector a reality.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan expects that before the end of December 2015, with the progress being made in the area of gas supply to the National Integrated Power Project, NIPP, the present improvement in the electricity supply for domestic and industrial use will not only be sustained but significantly improved.

The President has set a target for the actualization of uninterrupted power supply which drives economic development and Nigerians are assured that the process will not be truncated while the privatization of the sector will go on with utmost transparency.
