Senate President commiserate with Catholics over Uke stampede

President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has commiserated with the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha in Anambra state over the death of 28 worshippers at the Holy Ghost Adoration Centre, Uke, following a stampede.

Senator Mark in a condolence message specifically to the Archbishop of the Diocese, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke, expressed sadness over the stampede that led to the unfortunate death of the worshippers.

He said  reported accounts  of the incident indicated that the death could have been avoided and prayed against the reoccurrence of such a dreadful accident among the Catholic community.

Describing the Uke stampede as a painful loss of the faithful, Senator Mark condoled the families of the victims and advised them to remain unshaken in their faith in God.
