Contrary to speculations of his death, the revered elder statesman, orator, diplomat and politician, Dr Maitama Sule is alive and well
The social media and some online publications had been awash with news of his death earlier today.
But Pointblanknews.com correspondent in Kano, who contacted family sources said the rumour was false.
Few hours ago, Ashiru Shariff, the Personal Assistant to Dr Sule officially denied the reports in a statement

Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous and malicious rumour currently gaining national currency to the effect that the foremost nationalist, frontline statesman and an illustrious northern elder, alhaji yusuf maitama sule, the danmasanin kano, is dead. The public is hereby called upon to ignore and disregard this false fabrication which is the handwork of some mischief makers’ desparately vent on
causing disaffection and demoralising the peace-loving people of the north.
For the avoidance of doubt, the danmasani is hale and hearty and currently busy attending to his crowded
schedules and we thus wish to urge the nigerian public and the international community to continue to pray for his sound health and more years of service to humanity.
