The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs. Funmilayo Olayinka has died.
She was aged 52.
According to family sources, Mrs. Olayinka died of cancer in an undisclosed Lagos Hospital.
Before joining politics, she was a banker.
Mrs Olufunmilayo Aduni Olayinka (née Famuagun) was born in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State Nigeria on 20 June 1960.
She began her career in Banking with First Bank of Nigeria Plc in 1986 and later worked as Relationship Manager for Corporate Accounts in Access Bank, the now defunct Merchant Banking Corporation (MBC) and the United Bank for Africa Plc.
She obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) from Central State University, Edmond, Oklahoma, United States in 1981 and a Masters Degree in Public Administration 1983.
She is survived by a husband and three children.
