The Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Mr Paul Ibe has taken a decisive swipe at ex-presidential aide, Reno Omokri, describing him as a “classic case of psychological projection” and a man “desperate to escape from his own failures.”
In a fiery post on his verified Facebook page, Ibe did not mince words, accusing Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan of opportunism, hypocrisy, and political double-dealing.
“Credibility and Reno Omokri in the same grammatical environment? Oh, what a mockery,” Ibe wrote. “That’s an oxymoron so wild it should be banned by both logic and language.”
He noted that Omokri, who often styles himself as a pastor and moralist, has repeatedly betrayed the very ideals he claims to champion, describing him as a “Judas Iscariot” whose loyalty shifts with political convenience.
Ibe’s comments come amid growing criticism of Omokri’s public endorsements and perceived double standards, particularly his recent overtures toward President Bola Tinubu, despite past condemnations of the President’s alleged criminal records and controversies surrounding his academic history.
“Why not explain how Government College Lagos awarded a certificate to ‘Bola A. Tinubu’ in 1970, two years before the school was founded?” Ibe queried.
“Better still, if you truly care about credibility, join the call for the FBI to release Tinubu’s drug records. Or has your new loyalty erased your former fury?”
The piece further mocked Omokri’s oft-repeated claim of loyalty to friends, questioning his frequent verbal assaults on Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, whom he has continually derided online.
“You say you don’t attack your friends unless they strike first. What then did Peter Obi do to deserve your endless, vitriolic attacks? Or was his popularity a threat to your ego?” Ibe asked.
Referring to Omokri’s self-image as a pastor, Ibe likened him to “Simon the Sorcerer,” in the Bible accusing him of preaching morality while allegedly flouting basic ethical and family values.
He also criticized what he described as Omokri’s “transactional goodness,” stating that the former aide’s loyalty is not rooted in principles but in personal gain. “You want a political wife in Tinubu and a side chick in Atiku? Sorry, Reno. Nigeria is not your polygamous playground.”
In a biting closing line, Ibe warned that Omokri is “expendable, loud, treacherous, desperate and utterly irrelevant,” asserting that no amount of online posturing will alter that reality.
