Ekiti Election: Fayemi Must Stop Insulting Ekiti People — Bamidele

by Our Reporter

The Chairman , House Committee on Legislative Budget and Research, Hon Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, has called on the outgoing Governor Kayode Fayemi to stop insulting the intelligent, integrity and the resolve of Ekiti people to vote him out through his puerile attempt to create the an
impression to the world that the reasons for his rejection at the poll was borne out of his refusal to distribute money, and bags of rice to the electorate.

Bamidele described  the “stomach infrastructure” theory being trumpeted  by Fayemi as a form of intellectual fraud capable of sending the wrong signal that Ekiti are not capable of assessing the performance of their  elected public officials  to determine whether  to re-elect or deny them at
subsequent polls.

In a statement by his Media Aide , Ahmed Salami in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, the Federal Lawmaker said the much  touted sermon  of  stomach infrastructure’ being preached by Governor Fayemi’s think-tanks was unfounded and such did
not direct the psyche of Ekiti electorate to vote against the incumbent Governor.

He declared that prior to the election,  Governor Fayemi distributed over 200 buses among different interest groups while his wife Bisi Fayemi, distributed buses, grounding pepper , sewing machine and several other equipment to induce
market women

Bamidele declared that some self-serving intellectuals and politicians misled  Governor Kayode Fayemi  and caused the victory recorded by  Mr Ayodele Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party in the June 21Governorship election.

Bamidele, the candidate of the Labour Party in the election also clarified that the Ekiti Governorship poll , though not absolutely devoid of hitches,
but  remains the best to be conducted by the Independent  National Electoral Commission in recent time.
