Governor Udom Emmanuel has approved the appointment of Barr. Enobong
Ikpong Etteh as the Secretary to the Technical Committee on the
Realization of Ibom Deep Seaport.
Barr. Etteh who hails from Ukpenekang, Ibeno Local Government Area is a
foremost Labour Law expert with over two decades experience.
Barrister Etteh graduated from the University of Cross Rivers State (now
University of Uyo) in 1988 with LL.B (Hons) and was called to the Nigerian
Bar in 1990. He worked with M.O Awoyemi & Co. for 7 years before
establishing Enobong Etteh & Co. (now Rocheba Solicitors) with branches in
Uyo and Abuja. His areas of expertise include Labour Law, Banking and
Finance, Investment Law, Commercial Law, among others.
He is currently the Chairman, Labour and Employment Committee, NBA-SLP. He
is a member of the Standing Conference of Mediation Advocates (SCMA),
Nigeria, and the National Coordinator of the Campaign for Labour Lawyers
and a Member of the Christian Lawyers Fellowship of Nigeria.
He is passionate and committed to the development of Labour Law in Nigeria
and was the publisher of the first-ever law report on labour law in
Nigeria-The Nigerian Law Reports which is now the first specialized weekly
law report in Africa. He was also the arrowhead in the campaign for Labour
Justice Reforms drive for the Third Alteration to the 1999 Constitution of
Nigeria. He has, since 2002, prosecuted reforms in labour law practice and
in the national industrial court.
Barr. Etteh, who is widely traveled, enjoys preaching, praise and prayer.
It would be recalled that Governor Emmanuel, in his determined effort to
fulfill his campaign promise of rapid industrialization of the state, had
on June 11, 2015 inaugurated a 10-man Technical Committee for the
Realization of Ibom Deep Seaport with former Nigeria Maritime
Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Director General, Barrister Mfon
Usoro as the Chairman of the committee
