...Calls for his suspension A youth group, Grassroot for Democracy, has accused former Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Honourable Abdulmumini Jibrin, of laundering N15 billion for former Governor of Nasarawa State, Aliyu Akwei Doma. The group also called for the immediate suspension of the lawmaker for misconduct, mismanaging the budget process and misleading the public on 2016 budget. Speaking in Bauchi, Leader of the group, Honourable Bala Bogoro, alleged that Hon Jibrin was a notorious fraudster arrested in 2011 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for laundering N15 billion for the former governor. "He was arrested by the EFCC in 2011 for laundering over N15 billion for former Governor of Nassarawa State, Aliyu Akwei Doma. We also gathered that Jibrin initially inserted over N250 billion in the 2016 budget, allocated a project to his wife worth N250 million. He should be suspended because he has lost public trust as a representative", he said. Bogoro said that Jibrin should also be punished for false allegation in order to maintain sanity in the House of Representatives stating that Bogoro said the legislator denigrated the speaker, the entire house leadership and the House as an institution. "Hon Jibrin mishandled the 2016 budget process that nearly fractured the cordial relationship that exists between the executive and legislature and also brought the NASS and Government of President Buhari into public ridicule", he said. He said the investigation has also revealed that Hon Jibrin inserted funds for so called Muhammadu Buhari Film Village in his constituency without the consent of the President saying this singular act has brought Mr. President and government to disrepute and Jibrin must pay for it.
