Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia State, sneaked unto social media with a video of a bus ride in the United Kingdom at the weekend.
In the video, he was decked in a royal blue jacket, black polo T-shirt and a pair of jeans.
Posted in the morning of Saturday, June 16, 2018, the video with no sound showed the politician talking to a younger man he described as Chika.
On his Instagram page oukgram, he wrote : “it was a pleasure meeting Chika on the bus…if you know him tag him #oukgram.”
In an earlier picture a week ago, the businessman and politician was in the same attire, as he posed with Michael Uzor Kalu, his son, which suggests that the bus ride happened at the time.
Recently, the politician’s bus ride recorded less than 170 views.
Many have likened Orji Uzor Kalu’s video to billionaire Femi Otedola’s bus ride in London on April 4, 2018, when the oil mogul visited one of his teachers in Wandsworth. This video has been watched by over 326,000 people.
Otedola who recently joined Twitter also won applause with his surprise ride in a molue bus from Sango to Agege on May 16. The molue video has scaled over 378,000 views.
Many politicians are expected to mimic the billionaire in order to attract goodwill.
Orji Uzor Kalu, a member of All Progressives Congress on trial for alleged corruption of over N3.2 billion, was smiling in the video.
Politicians, eager to win the hearts of electorates, pull stunts such as mixing with the masses, sneaking into their tuffs as they engage in mundane activities.
