President Mohammadu Buhari has directed the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation, NNPC to take over the Operatorship of the entire Oil Mining
LLicence, OML 11 belonging to Shell Petroleum not later than April 30,
2019, according to a letter obtained by Pointblanknews.com
The letter dated 1 March, 2019 and signed by Chief of Staff to the
President, Mallam Abba Kyari, directed NNPC/NPDC to ensure full
operatorship of the OML 11.
Oil sources told Pointblanknews.com that Shell petroleum was actually not
interested in renewing the OML 11 due to the restiveness in Ogoni land.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that the main target in the whole deal is to
revoke privately owned oil licences belonging to notable Nigerians
especially those who did not support the second term ambition of President
Buhari and whose licenses are due for renewal in April, 2019.
Top on the list are Sapetro Oil, Conoil owned and Seplat.
Sapetro oil owned by Gen. Theophilus Y Danjuma was awarded the Apo Well
which can produce 300,000 barrels per day and crude reserve of 500 million
barrels.
Mike Adenuga’s Conoil controls and operates six oil blocs and exports
about 500,000 barrels of crude oil daily. These 6 oil blocs are worth $500
billion.
Seplat Petroleum Development Company was founded in 2009 by billionaire
oil magnate and surgeon Dr Ambrose Bryant Chukwueloka “ABC” Orjiakor.
Seplat has a 45% working interest in OMLs 4, 38 and 41 which are located
in Edo and Delta States onshore Nigeria. Seplat is operator of the three
blocks on behalf of the NPDC/Seplat Joint Venture
