Imo state governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha says contractors working on road projects in the state are unreliable.

According to him, they collected N13.9 billion which represents 30% of the contract sum and abandoned the project sites.

Speaking at a reception organized for the Chairman of the state council of traditional rulers, Eze Samuel Ohiri at Nkwo Orodo in Mbaitoli local council area, Okorocha said no contractor handling road projects in the state collected less than N60million.

He added that the contractors bolted because they thought the road projects are too many and may not be strictly monitored by the state government.

The governor assured that every road started by his administration must be completed on record time and appealed to the royal fathers to prevail on the contractors to return to site.

On criticisms of his government which have continued unabated, Okorocha said, “My problem with detractors is that I stopped them from feeding fat from the state treasury
