Former Vice President and PDP presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has assured Nigerians that he will commence the process of restructuring the country if he is elected President of Nigeria in 2023.
Atiku, who stated this while addressing PDP Abia delegates during his one day visit to the state,explained that Nigeria is due for restructuring as he had prioritized the issue and will implement it if elected the president of the country in 2023.
The ex vice president disclosed that he intends to focus on unity of the country, security, economy and education.
In his words; “I will pursue the agenda of unity,security, economy and education with vigour because the South East and other groups in the country have desired for a balanced polity where no section or region would marginalized.”
Describing the APC led federal government as a disaster, Atiku called for the unity of the PDP to ensure that it wins back the Presidency in 2023.
Earlier,Director General, Atiku Campaign Organization, Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi, urged Abia PDP delegates to nominate the former vice president as the flag bearer of the party in the presidential election and assured that Atiku will address the marginalisation the Igbo in Nigeria.
Abia State Chairman of PDP, Hon.Alwell Asiforo Okere, noted that Abia PDP delegates voted for Atiku in the party’s convention in Port Harcourt in 2018 and assured that the delegates would support him again.
Speaking on behalf of the delegates,former Deputy Governor,Hon. Eric Acho Nwakanma ; PDP zonal chairman,Abia North zone, Chief Ama Abraham and pioneer PDP chairman in the state,Chief Tony Ukasoanya, tasked Atiku to deepen his consultations with Igbo leaders, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other PDP aspirant aspirants from the South East zone.
Earlier, the ex vice president had visited Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, at the Abia Government House, where he stated that he was on a nationwide consultation visit to state in furtherance of his presidential ambition.
Governor Ikpeazu ,had while welcoming Atiku, reminded him that the country is in a dire situation and described the former vice president as a credible hand who can rescue the country.
He pledged the support of the state’s delegates to Atiku’s ambition.
