Osinbajo snubbed as Buhari chairs 422-member APC Presidential Campaign Council

President Muhammadu Buhari has been named the chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential Campaign Council while the presidential flagbearer of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu becomes the Vice Chairman.

However, while Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo did not make the list, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP senator and former colleague of Tinubu as State governor in Enugu state,  Chimaroke Nnamani made the list.

Osinbajo, who is among those who sought the presidential ticket of the ruling party, supposedly fell out with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, APC presidential candidate, in the buildup to the primary election.The 422-man list released by James Faleke, the Presidential Campaign Council Secretary, late Friday, has the presidential candidate and the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, as deputy chairman 1 and 2 respectively.

In a statement, Faleke said, “We are pleased to announce the nominees of the leadership of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, as per enclosed. All nominees are kindly advised to pick their appointment letters from the undersigned on Monday, 26th September, 2022 at 12noon.

“The venue is Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council on Plot 781, Herbert Macaulay Way, Central Area Abuja. All other members will be contacted by the leaders of their respective directorates.”
