A senior Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has told
Pointblanknews.com that a directive from the Presidency this morning
instructed the electoral body to return Mr. Timipre Sylva of the All
Progressive Congress, APC, as Governor of Bayelsa State “at all cost.”
The INEC source said Aniedi Aniekan, the Delta State Residence Electoral
Commissioner, REC, an in-law to Mrs. Alayingi Sylva, wife of the APC
Candidate, is the go-between in the planned return of Sylva as Bayelsa
Governor.
Sources informed that Aniekan has been dishing information and
instructions to INEC officials currently in Bayelsa State on how to return
Sylva as the winner of today’s elections.
“I can confidently inform you that we have been directed to return Sylva
by all means and at all cost. That is the instruction we got from Mr.
Aniekan who is REC in Delta State,” the source told Pointblanknews.com
According to the INEC source who would not want to be named, “Aniekan
informed us the instruction came from the Presidency and that we should
pass same to all PO’s involved in the election as no excuses will be
entertained.”
The INEC official who said he cannot be part of the machination of the
Government to rig the election advised Bayelsans to pray against the will
of the APC government in Bayelsa state.
