Few minutes after resigning as the Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon Lasbat Mojisola Meranda has been elected as Deputy Speaker, which was her old post before the ouster of Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
The Assembly also returned Obasa as Speaker.
Other principal officers of the Assembly, including the Chief Whip and his Deputy, the Majority Leader and his Deputy also resigned as were replaced.
Meranda, in her resignation speech, appreciated her colleagues for their gallantry. She said her resignation was to allow for peace in the tumultuous Assembly where the impeached Speaker Mudashiru Obasa was laying hold to the office.
