The Delta Government has sealed a hotel in Asaba for allegedly harbouring criminals.
Mr Ovuozuorie Macaulay, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), made this known, while briefing newsmen on the resolution of the State Security Council meeting held at Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the state.
He said the police had already warned all hotels in the state to desist from harbouring criminals but that the affected hotel refused to heed to the warning.
He said investigation showed that most criminals carrying out kidnapping and other vices in recent months in Asaba and environs had taken refuge in that hotel.
“This is as result of a report that has implicated that hotel as a place where criminals are hiding.
“Police also confirmed that it has consistently warned hotel proprietors in the state to desist from keeping criminals but this particular hotel has refused to yield to such warnings.
“And so the police had been ordered to immediately seal the hotel,’’ the SSG said.
The SSG said henceforth the families that aid the escape of any kidnapper or criminal suspects would be arrested. (NAN)
