Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), earlier today , raided the Aso Drive, Abuja home of Femi Fani-Kayode, who is in their custody.
The former Presidential campaign spokesman had been in the custody of the EFCC since Monday morning, when he honored the agency’s invitation.
The former Aviation minister is being quized over campaign funds. The cash spent in the prosecution of Goodluck Jonathan’s re election has landed Sambo dasuki, Olisah metuh, Nenadi usman, Achike Udenwa, Aminu Wai, Ibrahim Shekarau, Olu Falae etc in hot water.
Pointblanknews.com sources hinted Thursday that the operatives arrived Fani-Kayode’s home about 12 noon, muzzled their way through the gate, and summoned all his domestic staff for questioning.
It was learnt that the operatives could not gain access into his various bedrooms, as they were locked.
The curious angle is, the investigators invaded the residence while Fani-Kayode is still in their custody, even his wife, Precious and their new baby were also at the EFCC.
Said the source ” They came around 12, forced their way in, started harrassing domestic staff because there was no one at home,. He is still in their custody, his wife was not home as well, but they called all the staff, went to boysquarters. They had no acess to his rooms because they were locked. They later whisked away his laundry mean, who was released later”
Pointblanknews.com also gathered that the former spokesman may not get bail this week as they were yet to tidy his bail conditions.
” We have the sureties now but as you know they have to verify the documents which may take days, so his going home on friday still hangs in the balance”
