Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo said President Muhammadu Buhari has made plans for the education of internally displaced children.
Professor Osinbanjo stated this while speaking in Kano during an official visit to the internally displaced boarding school built by the immediate past former Kano state governor, Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
Osinbanjo said the Buhari led administration has instituted a program called Presidential Initiative Project for the Northeast which includes provisions for the education of the children affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.
“The federal government has a bigger project for these young children, the Presidential Initiative Project for the Northeast which comprises short, medium and long term projects,” Osinbajo said.
“Part of it is education for the children that are now at IDP camps and for all children who have been displaced. Government must create more opportunities for displaced children.”
The Vice President pointed out that it was the responsibility of the Federal Government in conjunction with the state government to rebuild the affected places.
He pledged the government’s determination to ensure the return of all internally displaced persons to their homes.
