Former Chairman of defunct Federal Electoral Commission (FEDECO), Justice Victor Ovie-Whiskey, is dead.

His eldest son, Mr Anthony Ovie-Whiskey, who confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the man died at 9.35a.m, on Wednesday, at Agbarho Clinic, in his home town, Agbarho, in Delta.

He said his late 88-year-old father suffered stroke and was hospitalised for two weeks before he died.

Ovie-Whiskey said the family had already informed the Delta Government of the demise of the former chief electoral officer of the country.

The late Ovie-Whiskey was a former Chief Judge of the defunct Bendel State before he was appointed Chairman of FEDECO in 1980 by former President Shehu Shagari. (NAN)
