Wike and his supporters, among whom are Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his Benue State counterpart, are demanding that the National Chairman of the party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu should step down since the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is from the North, like Atiku.
The Acting Chairman of the BoT, Senator Adolphus Wabara, however said that the seven-member BoT, who met with the Governor at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Tuesday, achieved some progress.
“We have not concluded. You know it is always easy to discuss. But to make peace takes sometime.
“We are better informed. We have gotten some new information. Every coin has two sides. In concrete terms, it is work in progress”.
The PDP launched its 2023 presidential campaign last week without the Wike group involved, in keeping with its earlier vow.
