A group, Peoples Democratic Party Youth Circuit has lauded President Goodluck Jonathan for firing Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir as Minister of Youth Development.
The group describe Abdulkadir as a saboteur of the Jonathan administration, and urged the president to appoint a more vibrant successor.
A statement by the body said Abdulkadir’s tenure was lack-lustre and failed to add value to the lives of the youth. The statement was signed by Mr. Pascal Metuh, the group’s deputy national publicity secretary.
Abdulkadir, noted the group, “didn’t record any achievement worthy of mention throughout his spell at the helm of the Ministry.
“In fact, Nigerian youths have never suffered such neglect as witnessed during his tenure,” they held.
“We recognise his dismal performance as a sabotage to the President’s Youth Transformation Agenda aimed at undermining the impact of this administration on touching the lives of ordinary young Nigerians.
“We therefore wish to implore the President to seize this opportunity to reform the Ministry and re position it to focus principally on issues and programmes that positively impact the lives of the Nigerian youth, the body stated.
The body appealed to the president “to appoint a young, visionary, dynamic and proactive Minister of youth development driven to achieve the goals and aspirations of the Nigerian youth.
“In doing this,” the group stated, “Mr. President would have succeeded in installing confidence in the Nigerian youth that their yearning and aspirations will be addressed with the seriousness and commitment they deserve.”
