Senator Usman Albishir from Yobe North Senatorial District,has died.
He represented his zone between 1999 and 2003 at the Nigerian Senate.
The accident occured along Kano-Zaria Expressway , almost claimed the lives of his police orderly and driver, who are said to be in critical condition.
It was however not clear what caused the monday ‘s crash
Albishir served as minority leader of the Senate and ran unsuccessfully for the governorship of Yobe State.
He was also a member of various committees of the Senate notably banking and finance, privatisation, and defence among others.
