SSS Detain El-Rufai At MMA Lagos…Lawan In Saudi?

by Our Reporter

The men of the State Security Service, earlier today detained  the former Minister of the FCT, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who was traveling to Dubai, at the Lagos Airport.

His tweet, which was posted at 12.33pm this afternoon, read: “The SSS at the Lagos Airport tell me they have orders to detain me and prevent me from traveling… the waiting game starts…”

He later tweeted They only wasted my time for 10 minutes. i am on my way to my destination now” I wonder what the 10 minutes wast of time have benefited the SSS.

Meanwhile, Faruk Lawan who was reportedly stopped at the MMA Abuja Tuesday, may have regained his freedom.

Pointblanknews.com gathered that shortly after he was stopped from going to Saudi Arabia, he made several calls apparently to friends in high places.

According to our source, Lawan was later allowed to board and leave for the lesser Hajj

Last July, El_Rufai was  arrested by the State Security Services upon arrival from United Kingdom  after he accompanied Major General Muhammad Buhari, the presidential candidate of the CPC, and Vice presidential candidate of CPC, Pastor Tunde Bakare, to make a formal presentation about the recently concluded elections at the Chattam House in London.

E-Rufai yesterday  described as untenable, Chief Edwin  Clark’s allegation that  some northern leaders are behind Boko Haram.

The  former minister warned the elder statesman to desist from making inflammatory and unverified statements capable of exposing him to ridicule instead of applause that he deserves …

at his age.El-Rufai also asked the former federal information commissioner to desist from insulting northern leaders at the slightest opportunity.
According to him, Jonathan has already made it clear to Nigerians and the international community that the gale of bombings in the land was beyond the capability of his administration to handle, a situation, he described as unfortunate.

He stated that other Nigerian heads of state had at different times and periods been confronted with serious challenges and they deployed appropriate state apparatus to deal with them without resorting to wrong quarters and the ordinary citizens for help.

“Why is it that only President Jonathan cannot solve Nigeria’s security problem? el-Rufai asked.“If he cannot do the job for which he was elected to do, he should consider going home. No president has ever sought the help of the ordinary people in tackling security problems in this country.“he said
