14 Arrested Over Uromi Killings as Kano Demands Public Parade

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has confirmed the arrest of 14 suspects in connection with the brutal murder of 16 northern travelers in UromI on Friday.
The Governor disclosed this in Kano on Monday during a condolence visit to the State Governor, Abba Yusuf where he pledged that the suspects would be transferred to Abuja for further investigation.
He reiterated his commitment  to ensuring that all those involved are brought to justice.
Governor Yusuf, while acknowledging the arrests, called for a public parade of the suspects. He emphasised the necessity of a transparent legal process to ensure justice and prevent future incidents of such violence.
“Our people were traveling from Port Harcourt through Edo State when they were brutally attacked,” Yusuf stated, lamenting the loss of many Kano indigenes.
 “We appeal to you to ensure they are not only arrested but also paraded publicly, to enable the world sees those responsible for this heinous crime.”
Governor Yusuf commended the swift response of the Edo State  Government and security agencies in making the arrest possible.
The Kano Governor further noted that a publicised legal process will go a long way  to reassure citizens of government’s commitment to justice.
