Against the backdrop of the rumour making round about the governorship
aspiration of Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan, the national leadership of
APC
Youths Renaissance has thrown it’s full weight behind the Minister.
In a statement released to newsmen on Wednesday, the group’s national
secretary, Mr. Collins Edwin said Mama Taraba as she is popularly known
will surely contest next year’s governorship election on APC platform in
Taraba State.
The group further said that Mama Taraba has all it takes to bring victory
to the party in the state and urged all party faithful within and outside
the state to ignore the rumour making round about the state of her health
and rally support behind her.
The group however commended the Minister for carrying all party members in
the state along especially with the recent condolence visit the Minister
paid to the family of a deceased regional leader of the party in the
state.
The group further enjoined rumour mongers to stay away from Mama Taraba as
the cause she is pursuing is beyond self, ‘saying the ambition is beyond
Mama Taraba as her victory next year would not only make her the first
female governor in Nigeria, but would also launch the country on the map
of nations who have allowed women to hold certain elective positions in
the world.
The group however commended the national leaders of the party for a
successful National Executive Committee meeting it held yesterday in
Abuja.
