The Imo state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has
accused some leaders of its PDP counterpart of plotting to sack Gov.
Rochas Okorocha from office by all means.
A statement signed by the Interim state chairman of APC, Prince
Marshal Okoroafor –Anyanwu alleged that some PDP leaders recently met
at the residence of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri
to fine-tune the plot.
The party accused the PDP of being desperate to sack Okorocha. It
listed the PDP chieftains involved in the plot as Senator Hope
Uzodinma, Prof. Maurice Iwu, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Senator Ifeanyi
Ararume, among others.
The PDP leaders were alleged to have vowed to use every means
available to unseat the governor before the 2015 general elections. At
the said meeting, Ihedioha was alleged to have vowed to never to
defect to APC, but to remain in PDP to ensure that Okorocha is sacked.
The statement further accused the leaders of another plot to incite
the state Police Command to clamp down on the Imo state security
agency; Imo Security Network.
APC said it is alarmed that an usual surveillance and movement of
strange persons are being noticed at the private and official
residences of the governor in Imo state and Abuja.
The party wondered why other states are enjoying federal presence
while Imo state PDP is plotting on how to remove Okorocha and warned
that the people of the state would not fold their hands and watch PDP
destabilize the state.
