Senate President Senator David Mark has canvassed the need to  restructure the entire football   Teams  (administration) in Nigeria to make them more purposeful and result- oriented henceforth .

“I think we really need to go back and see how we  can restructure the entire football teams not just the super Eagles to make them result-oriented”,, Senator Mark said after Nigeria crashed out of the Brazil 2014 FIFA  world cup Monday evening.

The Senate President who watched the match along with Senate Leader Victor Ndoma-Egba and Culture and Tourism Minister Edem Duke in his Apo official residence said:  “I am sure when the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Aminu Maigari comes back from Brazil he will need to review the situation, identify the problems and explain to Nigerians what went wrong.”

All the same  he stated :”this is football. There has to be a winner and a looser. Unfortunately, our Super Eagles could not fly today ( Monday). We were not lucky.”

Senator Mark who led the Federal Government delegation for the opening ceremony in Brazil however thanked Nigerians for their support to the Super Eagles .

He reiterated that Sports especially football has become an international tool to measure the strength and weakness of nations of the world , a development he counseled should not be taken for granted.

“For the fact that football is now a tonic for our unity in Nigeria, we must take it seriously and invest on it”, he stressed.
