Fawehinmi Family Endorse Mimiko For Second Term

by Our Reporter

Family members of the late legal luminary and human right activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) have thrown their weight behind the re-election of Ondo state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko.

In a statement signed by the wife and son of the late legal icon, Mrs Ganiyat Fawehinmi and Barr Mohammed Fawehinmi respectively, the family said governor Mimiko has in the last three and half years implemented programmes which have direct impact on the life of the common man, which is what late Gani Fawehinmi was known for in his life time.

The family said “in his life time, our late father had the opportunity of exchanging ideas with the Ondo state Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko on his expectations for the development of Ondo state, three and half years down the line, the family has critically assessed the level of development in Ondo state vis-a-vis the expectations of our late father and we have reached a conclusion that the developmental strides of Governor Mimiko have met those expectations and we have no hesitation in endorsing him for re-election.”

They further stated that in taking the decision, the family is conscious that governance is a continuum and that it has no doubt that Dr Mimiko is equal to the task of taking Ondo state to greater heights.

The Fawehinmi family however urged the people of Ondo state to come out en masse to cast their votes in favour of the Labour Party candidate in the Saturday governorship election, in order to continue to enjoy dividends of democracy in the state.
