The Federal Government has revoked the provisional allocation of houses under the National Housing Programme for recipients who failed to meet the payment deadline, the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development announced on Tuesday.
In a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Salisu Haiba, the Ministry declared that the revocation strictly applies to beneficiaries who did not complete the outright payment within the stipulated 90-day period, plus an additional eight-week grace period.
“This decision aligns with the terms and conditions outlined in Paragraph 2 of the Provisional Offer of Allocation Letter issued to beneficiaries. It reinforces the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring transparency, compliance, and efficient management of the National Housing Programme,” Haiba stated.
Haiba further noted that the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, clarified that this measure only affects those who failed to meet the payment requirements.
“All beneficiaries who successfully completed their payments on or before February 28, 2025, are not affected and should come to the Ministry to collect their Letters of Allocation and proceed to take possession of their houses immediately,” Belgore said.
For transparency, the Ministry has made the full list of affected individuals available on its official website (https://fmhud.gov.ng) and will publish it in the Daily Trust, The Nation, and Leadership newspapers in the first week of April 2025.
“The Ministry remains dedicated to providing accessible and affordable housing to Nigerians,” Haiba added.
“This measure is part of ongoing efforts to streamline the housing allocation process for greater efficiency and fairness.”
Affected individuals and members of the public are advised to visit the Ministry’s website, check the listed newspapers, or contact the Director of Public Buildings and Housing Development at Room A221, Ministry Headquarters, Mabushi, Abuja, for further information.
