The Head of Service of the Federation, Mr Danladi Kifasi has expressed the gratitude of the Federal Government to the just retired Accountant General of the Federation, Mr Jonah Ogunniyi Otunla for his exemplary service to the nation. Otunla within four years as the Accountant General of the Federation transformed the Nigerian accounting systems to a world-class standard
Mr Kifasi in a special letter conveying the approval of the President, Mr. Muhammadu Buhari of Mr. Otunla’s retirement from service after attaining the mandatory age of 60 years on the 12th of June, said, the Federal Civil Service and the entire nation were pleased with the stellar performance of Mr Otunla in his entire service career.
While appreciating the unprecedented reforms successfully implemented by the retiring Accountant General, the Head of Service said “The Service and indeed the Nation is ever grateful for your patriotic service to your fatherland. This is wishing you success in your future endeavors and hoping that you will oblige the service and the Nation whenever there is need to tap from your wealth of experience”.
Mr. Otunla was appointed as the Accountant General of the Federation on the 1st of July 2011 and was able to wholly overhaul the accounting system of the country through the implementation of a number of cutting- edge universally accepted accounting reforms and procedures.
