First Bank, Unity Bank Introduces Mobile Money Service

First Bank of Nigeria plc and Unity Bank plc on Saturday, introduced their latest initiative in mobile money services to customers.

The Business Development Manager of the First bank in Kaduna, Malam Ado Ibrahim, disclosed this during its special day at the ongoing 34th Kaduna international trade fair.

Ibrahim said, “with this initiative, the Bank has extended the scope of its financial services to enable you send and receive money, buy airtime and pay bills, all from your mobile phone without having to open a bank account.

“The Firstmonie account can be funded at any FirstBank Branch, ATM machine, directly from your FirstBank account, with your ATM or credit card and at any Firstmonie agent location accros the country,” he highlighted.

He stressed that the widespread network provides the bank with a good leverage to implement Firstmonie, and the initiative is currently available on the Etisalat, Glo and Airtel networks.

“In order to provide you with continuous conveniences in your transactions, FirstBank has several account packages to suit your various business needs,” he assured.

He emphasised that the bank has always been at the forefront of innovative financial services solutions and will continue to lead the innovation drive with mobile banking services through progressive and robust upgrade of the application to perform additional services.

Similarly, the Managing Director of Unity bank plc, Ado Wanka said the bank had also introduced the UnityMobile and Unity PocketMoni service to its customers.

” With these products, our customers can complete their banking transactions on their mobile devices using any of the major telecoms networks.

” Wanka, represented by the North West zone Executive Director, Ismail Galadanchi, said the Unity PocketMoni services enables a customer to perform transactions without a bank account.

He said the bank’s e-product aimed at making transactions safer, easier and accessible from homes, offices and other places. (NAN)
