Senate President David Mark has described the victorious Golden Eaglets of Nigeria as the authentic Heroes and future hope of the nation.
Senator Mark who watched the Eaglets overwhelmed their Mexican counterparts along with Senate Leader Victor Ndoma-Egba and Director- General National Sports Commission Gbenga Elegbeleye in his Apo residence in Abuja said ” I am very proud of the boys . I am very proud to be a Nigerian”.
An elated Senator Mark added ” these boys have sent a clear message to all Nigerians that ethnic or religion should be our problem . We are united under one God and nation . The boys have demonstrated that with a collective will of all of us, Nigeria can be united and we can rule the world. ”
With this victory, Senator Mark added that it is a clear signal and a wake up call on the Super Eagles that Nigeria must be in Brazil for the World Cup in 2014.
He canvassed that the victorious Golden Eaglets be groomed and kept together in order to progress to the Senior national team together.
Expressing regrets over his inability to be physically present in Dubai due to logistic hiccups, Senator Mark noted that the Eaglets lived up to the expectations of Nigerians.
The President of the Senate said all Nigerians are happy and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the victorious Golden Eaglets assuring that government would do the needful in terms of adequate reward for the Nigerian lads.
