President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially entered the race for the 2027 general election after obtaining the presidential nomination form of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the ruling party commenced its primaries process on Tuesday.
The APC pegged the presidential nomination form at N100 million as it opened sales to aspirants seeking to fly the party’s ticket in the 2027 elections.
President Tinubu reportedly secured the form through a proxy, with Hon. James Faleke, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency, obtaining it on his behalf after payment of the stipulated fee.
Faleke received the nomination form from the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, at the party’s national secretariat, shortly after the commencement of the sales exercise.
The development makes President Tinubu the first aspirant to pick the presidential nomination form under the APC’s timetable for the 2027 primaries.
Party officials described the opening of the nomination process as the formal beginning of activities leading to the selection of the party’s presidential candidate for the next general election cycle.
