The Kwara Government, Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools will meet to address the issue of PTA levy in the state.
Alhaji Saka Onimago, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ilorin that the meeting had become imperative.
He said the state government was committed to its free education policy, assuring that everyone in the state would benefit from the scheme.
“ The state government will meet with the PTA and ANCOPSS to address the issue of school levy.
“ Government on its part is committed to the policy of free education and will pursue it vigorously,’’ he said.
He solicited for the support of all stakeholders in the state to help fast track the development of the education sector.
The commissioner expressed displeasure at the attitude of some students who roam the streets during school hours, noting that government would tackle this.
He also said his ministry would visit all public schools in the state with a view to ascertaining their needs. (NAN)
