The Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria has described the Lagos State chapter of the People Democratic Party as a band of idle clowns that think they can manipulate the sensibilities of Lagosians with their infantile twist of issues and facts to suit their warped interests.
The party said this in light of the recent wild and unsubstantiated allegations the state PDP raised against the Lagos State government, which the ACN described as the height of desperation by the PDP.
In a release in Lagos, signed by the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the ACN. Joe Igbokwe, the party said that the PDP should desist from peddling lies, rumour and petty gossips as means of cornering Lagosians after they have shown they have no history of performance. It says that the achievements of the ACN government in Lagos will always speak for it against the desperate effort of the PDP to twist facts and
“It is obvious that Lagos PDP has no business these days than to peddle wild and reckless allegations, twist and manipulate facts and trade lies to paint the Lagos State government black before Lagosians. We are glad that, to their eternal shame and sorrow, they have woefully failed to further their notorious penchant of taking the people as fools who will easily gobble their tissues of lies. We are happy that the achievements of the ACN government in Lagos in the past thirteen years is all too obvious that they have become reference points for success to even PDP members themselves.
“Nothing can be more terrible for a party that wants to be taken serious to dwell consistently in lies and banalities. The allegation that the Fashola government is manipulating the judiciary as reckless is as it is irresponsible coming from a band of desperadoes that want to employ the judiciary to corner the mandates they never won from Lagosians. To the extent that the Lagos PDP ridicules itself as the judges in their own cases in its banal and hollow allegation that the Lagos ACN is filling ‘diabolical appeals’, Lagos PDP has become a house of comedy, tickled by its capacity to amuse itself. Is it so afraid of sustaining the cases they took to the tribunal that they have now started crying wolf or do they want the process of adjudication truncated at the lower tribunal level so they will have their do-or-die wish to corner some LCDAS in Lagos?
“We see as baseless and irresponsible the allegation that by streamlining official information in Lagos, the Fashola regime has something to hide.
This runs in tandem with the general state of confusion and ignorance that is responsible for the colossal failure the PDP has been in the governance of the country since 1999. We wonder what a regime that has only two years out of eight years in power has to hide to make it gag its officials.
Because Lagos PDP has become an idle band of mind readers, they believe that by ensuring that there is a symmetry in the dissemination of official information, the Fashola government has something to hide. We wish them well in their idle pastime as we challenge them to fish out what they feel the government is hiding than indulging in their well known passion of trading empty banalities.
“Lagos ACN will not sympathise with Lagos PDP if it deliberately plays blind to the great achievements of the Lagos State government but we re-state that we are not on any mission to make those that deliberately blindfold themselves for ulterior political motives, to see. That the party should indulge on the shameless tactics of admitting that there were progress in Lagos and crediting same to a motley of incredible forces-including the federal government-shows that the members of Lagos PDP is so dead to shame that they will do anything to satisfy their selfish ends. We wonder why the federal government is not doing wonders at the federal level and the PDP states but chose Lagos for its unseen wonders. Again, we challenge the Lagos PDP to go public with the list of achievements of the federal government in Lagos and indeed all parts of Nigeria.
“We know why the Lagos PDP has its eyes perpetually fixed on Internally Generated Revenue in Lagos to the extent that it is always alleging mismanagement, despite the huge demands of meeting the needs of twenty million Nigerians. As members of a party that is irrevocably committed to treasury cleansing and unrestrained looting, Lagos PDP members will always salivate and grin with envy at the huge state of IGR in Lagos and will be quick to think that since they deem any state fund as free meal, such IGR are looted. Because they have no history of responsibility, they will never see the huge and gargantuan needs of Lagos or what had been done to lift Lagos from the state they and their leaders deemed a jungle to Nigeria’s most functioning state and the engine room of the nation’s quest for greatness. Because it has no history of positive thought and creativity, Lagos PDP cannot fathom how creative thinking and progressive governance led to the revving up of the state IGR from a mere pittance to the huge sum they are now salivating for.
“Lagos ACN wants to urge Lagosians to look out for the desperate antic of the PDP. It is a party that has no record to show; a party that presides over a government that is noted more for the volume of money its members steal from the natural treasury than any meaningful achievement in thirteen years in power. Lagos PDP is led by people with blemished record of cleansing choice ministries and parastatals that would have added values and improve poor quality of life in the country. The party nurses an idle and unrealizable dream that it would capture Lagos and reduce it to the same debilitating level they have reduced the rest of the country.
They have not hidden their greed for the Lagos treasury and with the realization that Lagos has no room for them, they have turned idle gossipers, traders in mischief, lies and reckless allegations who will convene press conferences at the drop of a hat with no known agenda than to sell their many lies, lurid gossips and fictitious outgrowths of their idle minds that have grown rustic with unrealized greed.
“We urge the good people of Lagos to ignore the insulting tendencies of a party that best represents grand looting and waste laying, a group that best typifies wasted opportunities. We urge Lagosians to resist the leaven of the PDP, which represent irresponsible quest for power for the sole purpose of despoiling. We urge Lagosians to resist the wry tactics of the PDP, as it represents nothing but an attempt to colonise and exploit. They have no good intention for Lagos, as they have shown they don’t have for Nigeria.”
