The Rivers Government has said it will offer automatic employment to indigenes of the state who obtain second class upper degrees from the universities.
This is contained in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt on Friday.
Mr Owene Wonodu, Commissioner for Youth Development, said this when the leadership of the Students Union Government of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt paid him a visit.
The statement said the commissioner advised the students to make judicious use of the learning facilities the government had provided for them, saying that the future of the nation depended on them.
Wonodu said the government would offer scholarship and assist in training youths in different fields to enable them become useful members of the society.
The statement said the commissioner advised the students to be of good conduct and worthy ambassadors of the state.
Miss Hilda Anga, Vice President of the union, said the visit was to interact with the commissioner on union-related issues, the statement added. (NAN)
